A square is an excellent example of a busy urban space; a space where the public mingles together and with their surroundings, which lends itself to an anthropological and social investigation and discussion.
The installation gives new uses to urban surroundings, transforming a wall into a mirror that reflects those who live there.
Visualizing the mood of Barcelona
On three seperate occasions in a day we asked people who passed through the Tres Xemeneies square in Barcelona questions such as: what is their compassion level depending on their age, their optimistic and pessimistic attitudes towards life in relation to their economic status, and their optimistic and pessimistic attitudes towards life in relation to the hour of the day.
Their answers were visualised in real time, enabling not only to understand the big picture of the answer to the particular question, but if there were any relations between a particular answer and the time of the day, and the amount of people on the street at each hour of the day.
