The main goal of the Creative Decoding Tool (CDT) was to provide a solid methodology of understanding the creative process of students and professionals related to the design practice. The project started as a collaboration between Elisava and DDS where the initial aim was to identify and study the main creative competences of designers. In a second phase, 10 core creative competencies were identified and with them, we created a survey-based behavioral test aiming to measure the presence and intensity of each competence in the design process of each respondent.
We tested the tool and it became a way to understand how creation and the creative minds worked in different ways.
